Spanning an end times phone call between Shenzhen and New York, Su captures both cities with quietly arresting cinematography. The film’s dynamic aural universe shifts between meteorological warnings, radio reports, and correspondence reminiscent of Hong Kong cinema or Chantal Akerman’s News From Home.
