This lush 16mm short awakens centuries of rage embedded in the tropical landscape of Borikén (now known as Puerto Rico). A queer retelling of a Taíno legend, Muerde Sin Miedo summons the island’s history of colonialism and resistance through contemporary cruising culture, culminating in a passionate act of revenge.

Cristóbal Guerra is a filmmaker and writer whose practice centers experimental cinema as a method for thinking through memory, myth, and queer subjectivity. Drawing on critical fabulation, the work engages personal and historical archives not as fixed records but as unstable, porous sites where fiction, speculation, and lived experience intersect. I approach filmmaking as a process of translation—between past and present, image and memory, history and desire.
