A manifesto (or manifisto) on the vulnerability and resiliency of the anus takes the form of a Wagnerian opera. A papier-mâché pair of buttocks, as master of ceremonies, waxes poetic on the writings of Leo Bersani, Gayle Rubin and Patrick Califia amid extended sequences of impassioned, slickly-lit group sex.

Emre Busse is a Kurdish, Istanbul-born, Berlin-based researcher and pornographer. He earned his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Art History at Freie Universität Berlin, supported by a doctoral fellowship from the Hans Böckler Foundation. He has taught seminars in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Bremen, with a focus on pornography studies, and is a member of the DFG-funded Interdisciplinary Pornography Research Network. His monograph, Ethnicity as Desire: Post-Colonial Gay Pornographic Film in Europe, was published by De Gruyter in January 2025. His forthcoming contribution to Tränen aus Stahl: Männlichkeiten zwischen Verletzlichkeit und Gewalt (Tears of Steel: Masculinities between Vulnerability and Violence), edited by Justus Heitzelmann and Xenia Müller (transcript, 2026), examines migration, masculinity, and racialized desire in German gay pornography. His recent film, The Man Who Perceives All, won Best Short Film at both the 19th Pornfilmfestival Berlin and the 12th Porny Days Film Kunst Festival Zürich.
