Out of order, out of place, dislocation, discomfort. Artists map
queer geographies and deviant bodies in these works. In this program
of outsider media art, makers position themselves in relation to
the people and places that seduce, influence and threaten them.
Curated by the Festival Committee.

Looking at the ways queer media artists pilfer, distort and rebuild
images appropriated from our omnipresent and oversaturated mediascape,
these found-footage shorts take clips from children's television,
straight lesbo-porn, home movies, music videos and Hollywood movies
in order to defamiliarize dominant culture and lay bare its insidious
subtexts. Featuring work by Nikki Forrest, Ximena Cuevas, Ian Jarvis
and Hope Peterson. Curated by Maija Martin and Winston Xin.

Family traditions and domestic comforts have inspired people of all
races and creeds to fuck their gender. Expect Catholic quinceañera
celebrations gone hilariously awry, deeply twisted variations on Betty
Crocker-style bake-offs, dirty South African hygiene films and (non)traditional
Indian dance moves designed to give Krishna a migraine. Featuring
work by Cristina Ibarra, Dolissa Medina, Kelly Spivey and Punam Sawhney.
Curated by the Festival Committee.

An occasion oozing glamour queered, desperate, ruined, stolen,
imagined and has-been or never-was glamour, but definitely glamour.
These chronicles of the sick and famous roll out the red carpet
for some of our freakiest favorite stars, from Björk to Pee-Wee
Herman to Anne Heche to... JJ Chinois. Come to ruthlessly pursue
fame, mourn the passing of Old Hollywood, or just to feel reassured
because you're so much less screwed up than any of the above. Hosted
by Murray Hill with a very special guest. Curated by the Festival
Committee. Party to follow at The Slipper Room, 167 Orchard Street
at Stanton.
